Sometimes, I think it helps to throw in a Re, Re, Re, RE-MIX. Change the pace of the game. Throw a wrench in the plans. Jump in your car and drive. And, I did just that with a new printed top we just got in last week. Try something new and you just might come up with genius. I wanted to show how versatile this one simple top could be. I probably could have come up with 8 different outfits for this top, but I chose to show two of my favorites.
Other ideas:
1. Wear underneath a cardigan and pair with a pencil skirt and skinny belt for a wear to the office look.
2. Wear loosely with skinny jeans
3. Pair with shorts, tucked in a for a casual, daytime style.
And, these two….

It was hump day. And, that means all I can think about on hump day is the weekend. And, THIS particular weekend is our wonderful nation’s birthday! And for me, that means fireworks, BBQ’s, corn on the cob, watermelon, and cold beers on the beach with friends. I have to say, 4th of July is my personal favorite holiday, even more than Christmas. Yes, I said it, I like Uncle Sam even more than Santa. I don’t know if it’s the summertime weather or the fireworks, the family and friends, or the yummy summertime food, but I simply just love the holiday. However, I’m not a huge fan of the colors red or blue, and I’m especially not a fan of the colors on me. So, I decided to throw together my own version of red, white and blue for my outfit choice today. And, I kinda love how it all came together in an “it didn’t quite come together perfectly, kind of way” (if that makes any sense.) The top is one of my ABSOLUTE favorite Shopmamie items we have right now. The fit is perfect, and I’m loving stripes this season, too.
So, here’s to you America, Happy Birthday, in a vintage, modern, American girl kind of way!

Every so often, a designer hits the nail on the head. Being in the fashion business, we look at color, fabric, pattern choice, silhouette, texture, trimmings, seams, fit, and the list goes on and on. And, sometimes, it can get overwhelming! The elements which all must come together in a perfect harmony to make a piece of clothing work, really is an art form. I am personally, one, who is drawn to patterns and colors. I love bold colors and bold patterns. I’m the complete opposite of neutrals, earth tones, and simple. Anyhow, I think we overlook how important color can be in our wardrobe. Even in our homes.

And this summer, I’ve really been loving a bright coral, red, and teal color scheme, and think Tory Burch has got it spot on when it comes to her Resort 2012 collection. I love her COLOR palette! And, I love the mixture of patterns with her “on trend,” yet classic silhouettes. What is your color palette this summer?! Will they be the hot colors in Summer 2012 too?!
