A little Mamie Bridal Buzz for ya in light of the big Royal Wedding being held tomorrow. We haven’t really talked about it very much around here, but we thought we would jump on the news band wagon since it is happening tomorrow! Wow! I thought it was amazing seeing some of the very perfect preparations for the Royal Wedding. I also found it a little bit comical thinking about the difference between American wedding vs. British weddings, especially these days. The very regal, formal British wedding versus today’s Americana very casual, romantic, vintage, rustic-like setting. Kate and William do seem to be more laid back and I can’t wait to see if they are able to put a unique vibe on their very royal wedding. Can’t wait to see Kate’s dress!! On Wednesday night, I had a bridal shower hosted by dear friends of my parents and amazing ladies who have been a part of my life since I was just a little one. It was such a fun night filled with great company, delicious food, and lots of vino. To see all about the shower, click here, to visit Meg & Jeff’s blog. I wore our Shopmamie.com Daphne Croquet One-Shoulder Dress, which you may have seen quite a bit of lately on our blog, but I thought I would showcase it again to reinforce our love for this cute little number. I wanted to a wear white/cream dress with a fun but sophisticated look, and this dress met my every want! I paired it with boots, borrowed from my friend, to give it more of a Spring (rather than summer) vibe and it also gave it a more laid-back look. I accessorized it with my Grandmother’s stud earrings and the Shopmamie.com Gold Hammered Metal Cuff. I loved the overall look and would recommend it for other brides-to-be for upcoming showers, engagement parties, bachelorettes, or rehearsal dinners. It is just a great everyday dress..heck, I’m planning on wearing this dress all summer long! xo Megan
Yesterday, we blogged about our giveaway with the Rockstar Diaries, one of our favorite couple blogs and in going with the theme of couple blogs, I decided to bring to your attention a newly launched couple blog of our own. We were actually (or maybe just I was) inspired by the absolute cuteness of Rockstar Diaries and I was also motivated by the Daybook, although she is mainly a style blog, I really looked forward to seeing posts about she and her husband, and I especially loved it when hubby blogged one day himself. It made me think of Jeff almost immediately because contrary to most men, he actually loves blogging. He had a blog even before we met where he would report his ice hockey news from Europe and travel stories to family and friends. So, we thought we would take his blog and my intermittent self-centered style me mamie posts (sorry Amer) and put together our own blog.
And if your curious, here is a little bit about us… Jeff and I got engaged March 2, 2010 in Paris and we are getting married on June 18, 2011. Along with our full-on wedding planning, we are completely renovating our new city townhouse and, by renovating, we mean gutting it to the core including plumbing and electric, and re-building it again. Jeff plays professional ice hockey and his career has been a series of high-highs and low-lows causing us to travel from team to team in Europe and in the U.S. You can read more about us here. In general, we both love sharing our life with others, and with our very adventurous, sometimes crazy and hectic lifestyle, we decided to launch a joint venture of our own and it is called Somewhere With You. It doesn’t really matter where we are, as long, as we’re somewhere together.

Today, Jeff and I are officially 6 months away from our wedding day! Ahh! I can’t believe that our engagement is going so fast. I’m so excited, but partially anxious about all the wedding planning that I have to get done! I wanted to give everyone a little “pre-wed 6 month away update”. We are getting married in a Catholic Church in St. Michaels, MD and then our reception is being held at The Oaks. The Oaks is also an Inn with 30 rooms, so the bridal party and our families will be staying on site. Our other guests will stay at water-front hotels and b&b’s throughout St. Michaels & Easton, MD. The Rehearsal Dinner is going to be held on the water, under a covered dock, which happened to be the main reason that I fell in love with the place. I did find my wedding gown. 
I also chose our florist and our band (if you want to check them out). We are half-way registered-check it out on our website. And, I am sure you saw before that we picked out our amazing photographer, Shelby Leigh. She took our engagement photos in August- click on the sampling below to see check them out (again..for some of you-hehe).
